Best Go Karts 2017 – Reviews & Buying Guide

Go karts come in different sizes, but mini karts are by far the most popular. OK, not all are so mini, but the most popular karts are small and they contain a little power. When I was a kid, we had a kart and it was great. Every child should have one at some point. The good news is that you do not have to choose between super expensive kart, used kart or home made anymore. Nowadays, you can buy the best karts online for only a few hundred dollars.

Although these Chinese brands are generally cheap and less durable than the more expensive models, they typically use engines that are engine clones of major manufacturers. This means that when the parts break, you can replace them with spare parts or real parts. While knockoff parts tend to be less reliable, they will also be much cheaper.

This does not mean that we are looking exclusively for cheap karts. The goal here is only to find the top five karts for sale online. Obviously, I will not inscribe something ridiculously expensive that will not reach its price but wait a few marks between the two.

What are the karts?

Karts. Exactly what does it look like? Go-karts are usually single-seat karts that use an electric motor or gas engine. They usually have no type of transmission, but some will use a torque converter to reduce speeds.

With mini karts being by far the most popular option, as they can be fun for children and adults, I will focus primarily on mini karts. The "mini" karts are not so mini because a number of them can still hold a normal adult.

Some of these karts are two-seater, but they are often still small enough to be called mini-karts. Both seats will not accommodate two adult adults. However, they should be able to accommodate an adult and one or two children. The very big go-karts (and the professionals) are out of reach here because they are very expensive and illegal for the children.

Razor Dune Critical Buggy. Best Off-Road Go-Kart

Let's go and start with one of the big brands. Razor is responsible for all things children's sports. This little kart has a 350 watt electric motor for power. It has small narrow tires, so adrift, it should be easy on a smooth road. With a unique seat design and a fairly wide engine, this mini-kart can reach 10 mph.

The frame is made of thick steel tubing, so it will withstand a fair amount of abuse. The weight limit is 120 pounds, but it's probably more because of the engine than the frame. Besides, you would not want to try to adapt an adult to this thing. The wheels are rigid, so there is no suspension. If you want something to drift around corners, then it's a good option because of the tire, but many go-karts are stiff.

There is not a lot of safety equipment. There is no anti-roll bar, but without any suspension and being so low, there is no risk of driving unless you ride on an extremely steep hill. The controls are hand-assembled for comfort. This allows them to shorten the kart because you do not need pedals.

The engine is powered by two 12V batteries for a 24V system. This allows him up to 40 minutes of continuous use before having to load it. The battery charger is included with the go kart. And since it's an electric kart, it will not produce as much noise as a gas kart. Nice for the neighbors!

Advantages

Excellent engine for its size.
Tubular steel frame
good for turns

The inconvenients

Too small for comfortable adult use
Manual controls are not for everyone

MotoTec Sandman Go Kart Review. Best Off-Road Go-Kart

This little kart beast is powered by a 49cc two-stroke engine that can go up to 30 mph. If you want a kart that will fly, then that's the one you'll get. Be careful, however, you should also plan to take a little more slowly because there is no protective cage to protect you.

The controls are mounted by hand on the Sandman. The steering is not a steering wheel, but a set of handlebars instead. The frame is made of thick steel tubing and even has a protective plate on the front, which could prevent a tree limb from crossing this space and into your face.

Again, the engine is a 49cc two stroke. This means that you will have to mix your oil and gas. If you are not sure of the difference between a two-stroke engine and a four-stroke engine, the quick summary is that because of the power conversion, a two-stroke of 49 cm3 will be about as powerful as a four-stroke of 98 cm3. It's a lot of power for something so small.

The wheels are rigidly mounted so you can easily trap. Make sure to slow down, though. If you trade tires for street tires instead of studded tires, you will have a much more comfortable and predictable ride.

Advantages

49cc two-stroke
Front mounted skid plate
rigid frame
The inconvenients

The steering is not excellent at high speed
Handlebar steering controls

Coleman Offroad Go Kart Review

Coleman is not a name that you usually associate with anything with an engine. I do not know about you, but when I think of Coleman I think of coolers and ponchos. Really any camping gear, but no go-karts. Yes, they are one of the best karts. Seriously, though, you know Coleman as a brand and know their build quality. This should tell you what to expect.

This one is a little bigger than others on this list. It is a two-seater for two adults. The weight limit on this model is 400 pounds. It's thanks to the heavy steel structure.

Unlike others on this list, the Coleman has a real steering wheel, no handlebars with manual controls on them. It also has an accelerator and brake pedal, so it will feel more natural for drivers. Personally, I think I should adapt to the handlebars before being good. Nothing I do with a handlebar can return them. Seriously, do not try to spin your bike like a car. It will end badly.

The Coleman will also be the safest option listed so far. He is the only one to have a safety cage. The others have a seatbelt to keep you in the kart, but the kart itself offers very little or no protection. The Coleman takes security to the next level. It has multipoint safety belts, hydraulic brakes and a protective cage. Put everything together and it's one of the safest karts around, period.

Advantages

One of the safest karts on this list
Powerful engine
Weight limit of 400 pounds
Two seats

The inconvenients

May be a bit short for some drivers
